Claudia studied biology at the Leibniz University Hanover (Germany) and majored in microbiology, biochemistry and virology.

She did the practical part of her diploma thesis at the National Centre for Biomedical Engineering Science, NUI Galway in Ireland and studied the molecular characteristics of chemotherapeutic induced apoptosis signaling pathways in colorectal cancer cells.

In January 2008 she joined the Jakob-lab for her PhD. She is currently studying the structural changes of Hsp33 in E. coli after activation to find the substrate-binding site.

Besides the lab work Claudia enjoys to play Volleyball, traveling, reading, meeting people and enjoying life.
